Hunters acquires Countrywide Franchising Ltd

We are delighted to inform you that Hunters have been successful in acquiring Countrywide Franchising Ltd, who trade across the UK as Bairstow Eves Estate Agents. This acquisition will see all ninety Bairstow Eves franchised offices rebranded, spreading the Hunters brand across the country. The combined businesses will form the single largest independent estate agency franchise operator in the sector, with a total network of over 190 operations.

The re-brand programme will begin shortly and will be completed over the course of the next six months. The result of this merger is that our customers, current and new, will have even greater coverage for their properties. We intend to further invest in technology and service to ensure that our customer is placed fully at the heart of our business.

Kevin Hollinrake, Hunters Managing Director:

"This is a strategically planned merger of two estate agency networks and management teams, united in their commitment to the franchise model and knowledge that it produces higher levels of return and customer service. The benefits of this acquisition are three fold: firstly, providing us with a national network; secondly, enabling us to expedite the expansion of our highly successful network of self-employed personal agents, through a national recruitment campaign and finally, it is an important step towards achieving our objective to become the U.Ks favourite estate agent."

Hunters will retain the Countrywide Franchise management team, headed by Operations Director Andrew Grant who will continue his responsibility for the acquired offices:

"We believe this merger will deliver added value to the customer, generate opportunities for existing members of both networks and create business synergies."

This is further reiterated by Kevin:

"The property market is driven by the customer, whether buying, selling or renting our clients are looking for agents who are focused on their needs. Our franchisees are passionately committed to the success of their own businesses and deliver what todays' customer wants. Our organisation is led by people with extensive estate agency experience and entrepreneurial flair who don't put up with second best in their drive to raise standards for their clients."

Hunters intend to invest in the newly combined group to the benefit of customers and business owners from both companies.

Hunters Ilkley & Surrounding Areas

The new, and very stylish, Hunters office for Ilkley & Surrounding Areas opened for business on Monday 19 September 2011.

Situated in Crescent Court on Brook Street, in the heart of Ilkley, West Yorkshire, the office celebrated its opening with an extremely successful launch party the following week; attendees & Hunters team members alike commenting on the stunning Murray Hurst Interior designed space.

Branch Owner, Lester Hurst, is delighted with how the office has been locally received and is enthused about the future:

"We want people to see that we're different! We have this spacious and beautifully designed office to accompany our outstanding service to clients and continual involvement in the Wharfe Valley community. With us, it's not just property, it's personal and I think this ethos really comes across in the way we present ourselves."

Lester has nurtured a passion for property since he was 18, when he purchased his first house. This initial interest led him into a career in property renovation in various cities throughout the UK and Europe. Upon making the move back to his Yorkshire roots, Lester transitioned into estate agency by becoming a Hunters Personal Agent in the Wharfe Valley; his success in the area made opening a branch the next logical move. Locals have embraced the personal service Hunters offers - buying and selling a home is one of the biggest decisions we ever have to make and Lester and the Ilkley team are committed to ensuring this transaction is as smooth as possible.

Two new Personal Agents for Middlesbrough

Hunters has recently welcomed two new Personal Agents into the fold, with Nick Christie and David Badger now working in partnership with the Middlesbrough office. Nick and David's arrival is greeted with enthusiasm by the Hunters Property Group, and they bring with them a wealth of estate agency experience within their chosen areas.

The most northerly franchise of Hunters is casting its net into Coulby Newham and Ingleby Barwick after fabulous early successes, initially in Linthorpe and then the Acklam and Brookfield areas of Middlesbrough.

David Badger and Nick Christie have joined a Hunters team that has gone from strength to strength since its launch just fourteen months ago, in August 2010.

David, 49, who has estate agency experience throughout the north-east, states:

I'm excited about tackling what is reputedly Europe's biggest private housing estate. Starting from scratch in Ingleby Barwick in such a difficult market, and against some well-established estate agents will be a challenge, but one I will relish.

A qualified mortgage advisor with substantial experience as an estate agent, 29-year-old Nick is equally excited about the prospect of building his Coulby Newham patch from scratch.

This is a massive opportunity for me. I'm really looking forward to cultivating my own area and getting my teeth into TS8 by offering a truly personal service.

The pair aim to build on the successes of Sean O'Gara and Ian Paterson, who have established Hunters as serious challengers in the Linthorpe and the Acklam and Brookfield areas of Middlesbrough in just a short space of time
