The year that was...and a glimpse into 2013

Despite a very mixed economic backdrop, the property market remained stable in 2012 in terms of both volumes and prices. The outlook for 2013 looks a little more promising in our view, particularly as the recently launched Funding for Lending Scheme seems to be having a significant and positive impact on the willingness of lenders to offer mortgages. First time buyers can once again borrow over 90% of the purchase price of a home and rates for this are below 4% for the first time since 2008. As we reported in a recent Newsletter, the US housing market activity is continuing to pick up, unemployment is falling and our economy is predicted to return to significant annual growth next year.

Hunters, you might say, has had a good recession - we now have over 100 branches across the UK (from 14 in 2008) and have new offices about to join the network in Harrow, Bingley and Hull. We believe that the most pro-active agents thrive in a tough market and are very grateful to our customers for their continued support this year and we look forward to being of service in 2013.

Hunters arrives in Harrow on the Hill and Bingley

Hunters the Estate Agent continued its nationwide expansion this month by opening another two branches in Harrow on the Hill, Middlesex and Bingley, West Yorkshire. Both branches offer full sales and lettings services and we are delighted to welcome them to the Hunters network.

The new office in Harrow in the Hill, at 158 Station Road, complements the existing Hunters branches on Preston Road in Harrow, Wembley Park Drive and Sudbury town, and firmly places Hunters on the local property map in Middlesex.

The new office has undergone the Hunters ‘make-over’ which includes state of the art IT systems. Hari Patel, Franchise Owner says "The office is in a high profile, main road position with easy parking behind Debenhams. The branch specialises in Sales and Lettings in Harrow and the surrounding areas of Stanmore, Pinner and Hatch End”.

"It'll make a tremendous difference to the way we are able to do business. Due to a growing increase in demand from our successfully established branches, and an enormous amount of business to deal with, we had simply outgrown our premises and needed another base. We are delighted with the new space and look forward to welcoming customers – old and new– to the new branch”.

Dale Hesketh set up Quinn Lettings & Property Sales in Bingley in 2002 and has successfully developed the business over the past 10 years to become one of the leading estate agents in the area. Quinns joined Hunters earlier this month and after a branch face-lift, now trade under the Hunters umbrella from its new location in Park Road, Bingley. The team and the full range of services offered by Quinns remain the same.

Dale, Franchise Owner, commented, “We have extensive knowledge of the local property market, enabling us to offer a wide range of service. We are delighted to join Hunters and excited about all the added benefits this will bring our customers”.
Dale continued, “We are committed to providing all our customers - landlords, tenants, vendors and buyers - with individual high quality advice based on the wealth of experience of our local dedicated team. We specialise in sales and lettings in Bingley and the Aire Valley regions and going forward, we will be able to draw from Hunters national database of applicants and its 20 years’ experience in estate agency. We are very excited about the future.”
