Welcome to Middlesbrough

Hunters Middlesbrough opened its doors in June 2010. The original team consisted of Lisa Preston, Ian Paterson and Sean O’Gara and their successes have resulted in a steady growth in staff numbers since January 2011. They are now ten members strong, with a mixture of Sales Negotiators, Apprentices, Personal Agents and Valuers.

Lisa Preston, from the Middlesbrough office, is proud of the progress the team has made over the last two years, “I remember us having only one instruction and I had it duplicated so many times in order to fill our office window and brochure displays! We have achieved a great deal in a relatively short period, with continued growth in difficult market conditions. I believe that this is due to our high levels of customer service and accountability. The Personal Agent model is very effective and clients appreciate having one point of contact. In an age of automation and far-away call centres, our system sets us apart from the rest. Your Personal Agent is with you right from the initial valuation all the way through to completion.”

Meet Our Team

Ian Paterson – Personal Agent for Acklam and Brookfield

Ian is originally from Billingham and cleverly married a Middlesbrough girl, making him an adopted local. He has worked in the industry since leaving school and truly loves helping people find and move homes. A Hunters Partner, Ian brings a wealth of experience and a touch of good humour to everything he does, “I remember one viewing particularly well. My vendor had asked me to lock up and post the keys back through the letterbox. This I duly did, and posted my car keys into the locked house at the same time... and it was January and raining and my phone was in my car...”

Sean O’Gara – Personal Agent for Linthorpe

Sean is 27 and from Middlesbrough. He has worked in a range of roles in his decade in the property industry – as an accompanied viewer, a negotiator and a valuer. As a Personal Agent for Linthorpe, he specialises in both sales and lettings and enjoys being part of the process which helps people to obtain the home of their dreams. His years as an estate agent ensure that Sean remains professional in any situation, “I was once given a key for a property to conduct a viewing, but given the wrong address. The key, by some miracle, opened the door to this wrong property and I was confronted with a very angry man wearing nothing but a towel. Luckily, when I explained what had happened he believed me!”

Lisa Preston – Middlesbrough Divisional Director

Lisa is a born and bred ‘Boro girl and lives in Linthorpe - which she loves as ‘everything you ever need is within walking distance’. She started working in the property business in 2000 and really has never looked back, “It’s a business that brings different challenges every day and that is what makes it so interesting. I have worked at Hunters in Middlesbrough from the beginning and it has been amazing to see the team grow, especially during these hard times. It shows that we’re doing something right!”

Georgina Evans – Lettings Negotiator

Georgina lives in Norton and has worked in lettings for about ten years now. She has recently achieved one of her greatest ambitions and has become a partner in Hunters Middlesbrough Lettings. Georgina loves the rewards and challenges that this industry brings and loves that no day at work is ever the same!

Nick Christie – Personal Agent for Coulby Hemlington Stainton

Nick is originally from Glasgow but has lived in Middlesbrough for many years. In his 5 years in property he has worked as a mortgage advisor to sales negotiator and everything in between. Where does Nick see himself in 15 years’ time? “I will have retired to sunnier climes, with a Hunters franchise in Australia and be selling bonza houses down under.”

David Badger – Personal Agent for Ingleby Barwick

David has called Yarm home for the last 20 years, after moving up from London. In his previous life he worked in the business sector, where he gained valuable business experience which set him in good stead for a move into estate agency. After 7 years in property, David has made the move to a Personal Agent where he has one simple objective, “To work professionally for my clients in Ingleby Barwick and Thornaby and to get them the best completion price for their property.”

Jordan Clayton – Lettings

Jordan is 19 and has been at Hunters for just over 16 months. He started out as an apprentice and has really flourished at the Middlesbrough office. He now works full-time in Lettings, after juggling both sales and lettings in his first year. He has lived most of his life in Linthorpe and cannot imagine living anywhere else. What does he think of life at Hunters? “It is a pleasure to work here and I really do learn something every single day.”

Dale Bouttell - Apprentice

Dale is 21 years old and has just begun an apprenticeship with Hunters Middlesbrough. He is interested in all aspects of business and property and is already keen to become a permanent member of the team at Hunters Middlesbrough. He has lived in the Pallister Park area all of his life and dotes on his beautiful, six month old daughter.

Craig Covell - Personal Agent for Yarm and Eaglescliffe

Craig is a seasoned property valuer and has over 12 years’ experience in North East England. He has recently relocated back to his original home of Eaglescliffe and is delighted to be so accessible to his new clients. Craig’s aim is to offer all of his customers a first class service.

Pretgena Elise – Personal Agent for Stokesley

Pretgena has lived in Teesside for the last 14 years. A business partner since 2001, she is passionate about enterprise and property. Our newest member of the team, Pretgena will be operating in Stokesley and Great Ayton from the beginning of May… a new challenge she is very much looking forward to. Originally from the beautiful island of Jamaica, Pretgena was privileged to grow up in the sunshine. She has found that the people of the North East are just as warm and welcoming and is proud to call it home. She has two lovely boys, Oliver and Franco, and is delighted to be a part of team Hunter's in Middlesbrough.
