Wharfe Valley News from Hunters

Hunters Property Group is a residential estate agent which covers the whole of Yorkshire and more recently the Wharfe Valley. Since launching in the area last year things have got off to a good start and the addition of a new agency with fresh ideas has been well received.

Selling a house in these times is always a difficult experience. I found using Hunters eased the process, they showed a truly professional approach. I would highly recommend their excellent service.

Christmas comes to the Wharfe Valley & Crescent Court

The days are getting colder, the evenings are darkening and the Coca Cola advert is on our television screens, which can mean only one thing, Christmas is coming! Here in the Wharfe Valley, the festive season has kicked off this month. In Ilkley, we had the very talented, Matthew Lewis, otherwise known as Neville Longbottom from the Harry Potter films, switching on the town’s lights on Saturday 19th November.

A week later on Saturday 26th November, BBC weather girl Lisa Gallagher will be switching on the Burley-in-Wharfedale Christmas lights at 4pm! Otley will then be illuminated days later on Wednesday 30th November as the Town Mayor, the Town Bellman and Otley’s Carnival Queen join Wharfedale locals to celebrate the festivities. Entertainment will also be provided by carol singers and a local brass band from 7pm. Ho ho ho!

Here at Hunters, this will be our first Christmas in our new Ilkley office. We are teaming up with other retailers at Crescent Court to ho-ho-host the Crescent Court Christmas Cracker on Saturday 10th December from 11am to 3pm. Along with Attic Womenswear, Blacks, No. 1, The Crescent Inn, The Yard, The Toy Box, Lishman’s of Ilkley and Bluebell gifts, we will be having a festive extravaganza to celebrate our first Christmas! Activities will include our official switch-on of festive fairy lights, carol singing, roasted chestnuts, mulled wine and even an appearance from Santa Claus himself. In the Hunters office we will also be wrapping presents to raise money for Cancer Research UK! Come on down to join in with the fun and get well and truly into the festive spirit!

Record Breakers: Hunters Achieves Fastest Ever Sale

It has been a fantastic second month for Hunters in the Wharfe Valley. Our proudest achievement so far has been our recent record-breaking sale this month when we smashed the record for our fastest ever sale. An Otley property which has previously been sitting stagnant on the housing market for two years with another estate agent, was sold by Hunters, subject to contract, in just two days!

The two bedroom cottage in Askwith, Otley was snapped up in just 48 hours after re-entering the market with us. The speed of the sale is yet another success story for Hunters in the Wharfe Valley as we have also seen a 30% surge in listings and an incredible sale of FIVE properties in SEVEN days.

For many estate agents, things are taking a turn for the worst as the economic downturn continues. Hunters, however is a very proud exception to this as we are selling houses faster than ever before. Our commitment to offering viewings and valuations seven days a week and national coverage reaching buyers all over the UK gives us the edge and our continued hard work is paying off.

New Arrival at Hunters Office

Due to recent successes, we have expanded and this month we have welcomed new arrival, Debbie Nunnerley to the team! With nine years of estate agency experience, we are delighted to have Debbie on board, joining Andy Thompson and Lester Hurst in the Ilkley office. Welcome aboard Debbie!

Dress your Home to Impress!

We were featured in Yorkshire Life this month giving our advice on how best to dress your home to increase its saleability. In association with Murray Hurst Interiors we picked our top tips allowing sellers and landlords to best display their home’s potential.

We recommend keeping your home tidy, simple and free of clutter. Clear away surfaces, remove personal touches like collectable items and photographs and make sure furniture points towards a focal point in the room, such as a fireplace.

We advise our clients to always remember how essential viewings are in selling a home; you should ensure the interior design of your home will attract the optimal amount of potential buyers. Keep your home universal, avoid bright colours and remember, tidiness is essential!

In the Spotlight: No. 1

Our neighbours across the Court, No. 1 beauty boutique officially launched this month. Providing beauty, hair and retail therapies for those in need of a pamper, No. 1 is Ilkley’s newest and finest hair and beauty haven. Stockists of high-end brands such as Guinot, Mama Mio, Darphin, Medik8 and Bumble and Bumble, make No. 1 your first port of call for must-have products.

We’d like to welcome Annie and her team of beauty and hair confidantes to Crescent Court and we look forward to seeing the business prosper. For more information on No. 1 visit the website www.onethecrescent.co.uk or to book an appointment, give the team a ring on 01943 608688.

Martin Johnson opens Ilkley Rugby Club’s New Clubhouse

Arriving by helicopter, the visit came just three days after his resignation as England’s Manager. Johnson signed autographs from star struck fans and caught moments of the ongoing first team match against Scarborough. Despite his recent unfortunate series of events, Johnson must have brought some luck with him as all Ilkley teams won on the Saturday, the first team defeated Scarborough 24-0, seconds 60-7, extra seconds 54-7 and third team 22-17!

As sponsors of the ground, Hunters are proud supporters of Ilkley Rugby Club, the new clubhouse looks absolutely spectacular and we wish the club luck for the remainder of the season.

We are always keen to hear from you and if you have any news or stories of your own please do not hesitate to send them to us by emailing ilkley@huntersnet.co.uk. For a free, no obligation valuation of your home or to view the beautiful array of properties in store, call 01943 660500 or come in and see us at 4-5 Crescent Court, Ilkley.
