Christmas comes to the Wharfe Valley & Crescent Court

The days are getting colder, the evenings are darkening and the Coca Cola advert is on our television screens, which can mean only one thing, Christmas is coming! Here in the Wharfe Valley, the festive season has kicked off this month. In Ilkley, we had the very talented, Matthew Lewis, otherwise known as Neville Longbottom from the Harry Potter films, switching on the town’s lights on Saturday 19th November.

A week later on Saturday 26th November, BBC weather girl Lisa Gallagher will be switching on the Burley-in-Wharfedale Christmas lights at 4pm! Otley will then be illuminated days later on Wednesday 30th November as the Town Mayor, the Town Bellman and Otley’s Carnival Queen join Wharfedale locals to celebrate the festivities. Entertainment will also be provided by carol singers and a local brass band from 7pm. Ho ho ho!

Here at Hunters, this will be our first Christmas in our new Ilkley office. We are teaming up with other retailers at Crescent Court to ho-ho-host the Crescent Court Christmas Cracker on Saturday 10th December from 11am to 3pm. Along with Attic Womenswear, Blacks, No. 1, The Crescent Inn, The Yard, The Toy Box, Lishman’s of Ilkley and Bluebell gifts, we will be having a festive extravaganza to celebrate our first Christmas! Activities will include our official switch-on of festive fairy lights, carol singing, roasted chestnuts, mulled wine and even an appearance from Santa Claus himself. In the Hunters office we will also be wrapping presents to raise money for Cancer Research UK! Come on down to join in with the fun and get well and truly into the festive spirit!
